After the popularity of “Tum Kon Piya” and “Mohabbat Tum Sy Nafrat Hai”, we are getting to see our beloved beauties, the hit jodi of Ayeza Khan and Imran Abbas once again together rocking in “Koi Chand Rakh“. Directed by Siraj ul Haaq and written by Maha Malik, “Koi Chand Rakh” is Pakistani Drama serial currently ongoing on ARY Digital and trending on YouTube as well. Our gorgeous Muneeb Butt and vivacious Areeba Habib are playing the leading roles.
The first episode introduces it’s protagonists and their personalities in a detailed manner. The opening is quite decent.
Imran Abbas is playing the role of Zain, a typical rich spoilt brat, the only son of the family and elder to a sister named Sobia (Played by Yasmeen Haq). Zain is a guy who doesn’t take life seriously and is very irresponsible, carefree and obsessed with beauty. He once see Nishaal and falls in love with her beauty and tries to approach her. The role of Zain’s father Ibrar is being played by Tanveer Jamal and Zain’s mother is played by Asma Abbas.
Ayeza Khan is playing the role of Rabail who is living with her uncle’s family after the death of her parents at a very young age. Rabail’s uncle, Asad Niazi’s (Played by Hashim Butt) family consists of his wife Nafeesa who’s role is played by Sabiha Sumar, his daughter Nishal and son Umair. Rabail is a caring young doctor, passionate about her profession, an ideal elder sister to Nishal and a guide to Umair. Rabail is four years elder than Umair. She always took care of him since day one, helps him in studies and constantly reminds him about his education, health and future. It all developed a strong bond between them.
Nishal (Played by Areeba Habib) is such a virago, so self centered that she seems to care for nothing except her own happiness. When Zain came to Nishal’s university after her, Nishal jokingly says that her name is Dr. Rabail while volunteering for a blood camp and Zain assumes that it’s her real name. This misunderstanding obviously made things complex.
On the other side, Umair just didn’t realize when his respect and affection for Rabail has turned into kind of obsession for him. Umair confesses his love to Rabail that disturbs her badly and also leaves her embarrased as Umair was nothing more than a younger brother to her. Nafeesa (Umair’s mother) overhear them when Umair was confessing his love to Rabail and decides that the best solution is to get Rabail married to someone as soon as possible not only because she feels a little suspicious about Umair’s equation with Rabail, She also thinks that people has always seen Umair and Rabail as brother and sister, now their marriage will give them reason to taunt over her. She talks to Asad Niazi about Rabail’s marriage. Umair overhears his parent’s conversation and it shook his ground because he couldn’t even think of Rabail going away and not being in his life.
Muneeb Butt is looking very innocent and cute as Umair (and definitely my favorite most character of ‘Koi Chand Rakh’).
I’m curious to see how Umair and his ‘Rabi G’ will collide. Can’t wait for their wedding.
“Koi Chand Rakh” has a decent opening and as we are already quite involved in the story, we can’t wait to see what happens next in Rabail’s life. Another hit by ARY Digital worth tuning to, on every Thursday at 8 PM.
